This old-growth forest occupies a 300-hectare massif that dominates the Lorraine plateau. The Sensitive Natural Area of the Ranzey forest and its old trees is a suitable playground for specific bird populations, such as the Ringed Flycatcher, as well as for a dozen varieties of bats, half of the species known in Lorraine.
