Biodiversity: the site consists of a 55 hectare lake, bordered by reed-dominated marshlands and mainly located in its northern part. A few wooded elements punctuate the surroundings of the lake with humid woodlands, notably dominated by the Ash Willow or the Ash. A few prairie plots complete the site, in its southwestern part. The pond's appeal to wildlife is mainly marked for birds that use the site during nesting and wintering periods.
-Landscape: Parroy's pond can be likened to a bowl in the heart of a cereal plateau. The water body remains very discreet in the landscape but its observation from high points is facilitated by the local topography. The northern half of the pond has a "natural" facies with reed beds and wet woodlands surrounding the water body. The southern half has an "artificialized" facies with a poorly developed plant belt and anthropized areas close to the banks (recreational base, dikes, fishing posts,...)
In a clearly agricultural environment, facing the vast Parroy forest, Parroy's pond is the largest in the department. It is an artificial water reservoir for the Marne-Rhine canal and indirectly for the Sânon and Meurthe rivers.
The activities identified on the banks of the Parroy pond include the nautical activities of the sailing base (boats, windsurfing, pedal boats, etc.), hiking, fishing and hunting. The areas around the pond are dedicated to agriculture (dominant crops).
